Toronto is the capital of the province of Ontario, the biggest city of Canada and the financial and cultural center of the country. It is as well the Canadian city most visited by international tourists.
The city Anglófona is considered to be the center of the Canadian culture and is the host of many national events.

Toronto has a humid continental climate, with moderate and humid summers and generally cold winters, though moderated enough in comparison to the standards of Canada and the north of the United States. There can be snow any time between November and the middle of April. The summer in Toronto is characterized by long periods of humid climate.
Toronto is famous for its big and modern malls. Best known is the Eaton Centre located downtown. Other big malls are the Yorkdale Shopping Centre, the Scarborough Town Centre, the Sherway Gardens and the Fairview Mall, all with two hundred shops or more. The major attraction of the city is the Tower CN, with 553 meters of height.
The most important cultural buildings are the Royal Ontario Museum (the most important museum of the country), the Art Gallery of Toronto and the Ontario Science Center. During the whole day excursions are organized to cross the lake Ontario and visit its islands.
Toronto appears in the Guinness Book of records for having the longest street of the world: the Yonge Street, which measures 1.896 kilometres of length.
