Information about Venice
Venice is the capital of the region Véneto in the north-east of Italy and is famous for its several channels. It is placed on a set of islands in the Adriatic Sea between the river mouths of the rivers Po and Piave. The official language is Italian. Venice has a Mediterranean climate, the winters are soft and the summers are warm. The most curious thing about this city is the silence, caused by the absence of cars, buses and vehicles in general.
Venice is constructed in an archipelago of 118 islands with about 150 channels. The islands are connected by approximately 400 bridges. The channels compose a great network like streets, departing from the Great Channel, which is like a great avenue where a multitude of big and small crafts circulate. The typical vehicle is the famous gondola.
The Carnival of Venice is characterized by its participants using elaborated masks to cover their faces. The tradition probably goes back to the 12th century when Venice began to dominate important portions of the Mediterranean Sea.
The Italian Courses cover four basic areas of learning a new language which are: reading, writing, oral expression and oral comprehension. These aspects are always adjusted to the needs of the student and learning materials are used that are adapted to the age of the student and to his level of Italian. The oral expression and communication form the base of our programs, since they are the basic requirements demanded to dominate a language. In addition the grammar and vocabulary are very important components in the lessons. All the courses, except those for complete beginners, start with a level test to ensure that you are placed in the appropriate level.
