Tarifa is located in Andalucia at the Southern tip of Spain where the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic meet. The African continent lies only 14 kilometers away and can be reached directly by ferry. The arabic influence reflects in the alleys and colorful flower-decorated courtyards.
Mass tourism has never made it down here. The local inhabitants (14'000 people) support our Spanish language programs. Spanish is the only language to communicate with the locals because they do not speak any foreign languages.
This small town became popular because of the variety of outdoor sport activities it offers, especially windsurfing and kitesurfing. Tarifa guarantees you a balance of a study- and fun vacation. In spite of the recent foreign influences the traditions are still very much alive. It is a known fact that Tarifa is a high wind area ideal for kitesurfing and windsurfing. It is also true that most visitors come back to Tarifa and most of them admit that they get really addicted to this place as it is indeed one of the last unspoilt nature paradises in Europe. At our Spanish language school we talk to many people from different countries and although a lot of them often stayed in Tarifa they know very little about its culture and monuments.
